I should preface this with a little information about my school setting because I know they are all a little different. Take your time to observe whether your set schedule worked for them or not. It depends on the children how they react to the activities labeled and their timings. In this way, you can make them memorize the schedule as well.Ī schedule is never perfect. For example, you can refer to the schedule and ask them What time is snack time? And let them answer the question. This will be easier for the children to remember and answer whenever you ask them. When you plan a schedule, you need to label with their names and duration. You should also keep an audio mechanism like a bell-ringer or classroom speakers to speak out instructions when you need it. If you can, include images and picture cards for the kids to see and remember. Kids learn best through audio-visual tools. These small tasks will be on their minds before each activity and they will learn to remember. If you plan for them to go out then schedule a task of wearing shoes. If you have a snack time, include a handwashing time so the kids can learn these simple etiquettes. Transitions are for what goes in between. This will help you plan out active and passive activities for better understanding. Like when does the class start? or When id the recess? When do they go outside? List all these activities in order according to time and slots. Think of all the activities that you need to include for the children.
